Senior Technical Accounting Manager (m/f)

Fulltime, starting in January 2018


The Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining robust accounting policies, processes and reporting thereon for the CE Region of Liberty Global. In this role you are a sparring partner on technical accounting matters and are working with many cross functional groups throughout the Central European entities to provide technical accounting interpretations and advice on accounting and reporting matters.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support in setting and maintaining the Accounting Policies of the Central Europe (“CE”) Region and ensuring overall compliance with US GAAP
  • Participate in the review of the monthly and quarterly financial statement and disclosure information to ensure accurate US GAAP reporting
  • Provide accounting interpretations for complex transactions including M&A, preparation and/or review of position papers on technical accounting matters and presenting the accounting implications to senior management
  • Participate in regular benchmarking of accounting policies and processes across the group
  • Provide ad hoc support to Liberty Global Technical Accounting to assess Group-wide technical and operational accounting implications
  • Support various accounting related processes for quarterly reporting purposes
  • Provide decision support and analysis to ensure key accounting decisions are properly evaluated and fact based
  • Promote accounting awareness through both informal communication channels and formal training
  • Support business driven and tax-related projects

Your Skills:

  • Completed university degree
  • Several years of relevant experience, preferably in a big 4 environment
  • Extensive US GAAP and/or IFRS knowledge and experience
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Powerpoint)
  • SAP, Oracle or HFM experience is a plus
  • Preferably experience within a SOX environment
  • Strong communication skills on executive level with a hands-on mentality
  • Fluency in English and German
